Regarding Won Hee-ryong, a candidate for party leader, raising the 'deliberate defeat theory' in the general election, Bae Hyun-jin, a member of the People Power Party, criticized, saying, "You didn't deliberately lose to Lee Jae-myung, did you?"
On the 11th, Representative Bae wrote on Facebook, "During the April 10 general election, I was the one person within the party who received support requests from all regions," adding, "There is no place I haven't been to, including Seoul, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, and Gangwon." She continued, "I even traveled four to five hours by car to meet party members in the district of Representative Lee Cheol-gyu and offered help," adding, "Over the past six years, I have traveled nationwide for presidential, local, and by-elections, and in this general election, I overcame fear and ran in Seoul and Gyeonggi."
Although Representative Bae said traveling across the country was tough, she added, "Still, because they are my colleagues and our party family, I set out at dawn to go nationwide." She further stated, "I understand that I requested and received much more help from one candidate than from others," criticizing, "To say things like 'Did you deliberately try to lose the general election?' or 'I will include ignoring texts in the white paper'?we learned that this is ingratitude." This appears to be a counterattack against Candidate Won's remarks to reporters after a joint speech meeting in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions the previous day, where he said regarding the controversy over Candidate Kim Geon-hee's ignoring texts, "I can't help but think whether the general election was deliberately led to defeat."
On the same day, Representative Bae also posted, "Eventually, there was an unacceptable statement that 'the general election was deliberately lost.' This far exceeds the level of dirty mudslinging," adding, "It should be a future catalyst that opens a new path, not a desperate act to ruin the party's fate. That has never happened." She said that at the end of March, the ruling party's election atmosphere had reached its worst, and a certain member who was the emergency committee chairman at the time made a desperate request for help, prompting her to participate in the support election. Representative Bae recalled, "The chairman's arms and hands were covered with bandages and plasters. He was running around the country while receiving IV drips until his veins burst." She criticized, "How could a candidate for party leader, who has witnessed this process for over 20 years, raise suspicions of 'deliberate defeat'?"
She added, "This crosses the line," and said, "Please regain your sanity and restore this election, which party members are watching, to its normal track."
