'Free Artificial Rock Climbing, Bowling, Futsal'... Gangseo-gu Recruits 130 Students for Elementary, Middle, and High School Vacation Sports Classes Provided by Gangseo-gu.

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) announced on the 9th that it is recruiting 130 participants for the "2024 Summer Vacation Youth Sports Class" to coincide with the summer vacation.

The sports class is a popular program in the district that allows youths on vacation to build physical strength and enjoy healthy hobbies without financial burden. During the summer, all activities are held indoors to provide a safer environment away from the heat.

The sports class will run for a total of three weeks from the 29th of this month to August 16th, offering six courses: ▲Artificial Rock Climbing ▲Ice Skating ▲Bowling ▲Futsal ▲Table Tennis ▲Swimming. A total of 130 participants will be recruited.

Artificial rock climbing, which helps develop strength and flexibility, will recruit 45 participants across three classes: two for elementary school students and one for middle and high school students.

Ice skating will recruit 10 elementary school students, and bowling will recruit 30 participants across two classes for elementary students (grades 4-6) and middle and high school students.

Table tennis will recruit 20 participants across two classes for elementary school students, while futsal and swimming will each recruit 10 and 15 participants respectively in one class each.

All courses are free of charge, with only equipment usage fees (30,000 to 40,000 KRW) required for some courses. Interested individuals can apply online through the Gangseo-gu public sports facilities website by the 19th of this month. Each person may apply for only one course.

The district will select winners through a computerized lottery on the 22nd of this month and notify them individually. More detailed information such as operating hours and locations can be found on the district website (Notices/News).

District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, "I hope youths will have a healthier and more fulfilling summer vacation through the sports classes," and added, "We will continue to create an environment where residents can easily enjoy community sports anywhere."
