Popular Festival Programs Including Bak Teotteurigi
Residents of Dongsang-myeon, Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk, successfully concluded the '2nd Dongsang Valley Water Sound Festival,' prepared to revitalize the valley.
According to the county, this festival was held over two days, on the 6th and 7th, at Unjangsan Dongsang Valley, offering refreshing and beautiful memories to the fullest. Various programs were conducted under the theme of the importance of Dongsang Valley, a natural tourism resource, and the preservation of the natural environment.
At the opening ceremony, saxophone and dance performances were held as pre-ceremony events. Key guests, including Yoo Hee-tae, Wanju County Governor, Yoo Ui-sik, Chairman of the Wanju County Council, council members, and provincial assembly members, attended to grandly announce the start of the festival.
The 'Clean Valley Water Sound Preservation Barrel Breaking' performance, embodying the promise and wish to preserve the beautiful natural environment and pristine valley of Dongsang-myeon, attracted attention.

At the festival site, various programs such as performances by local cultural and artistic groups, pungmul performances, water balloon popping, water gun shooting, and a singing contest for tourists were held. The agricultural specialty product sales area and food market offered a variety of rich foods.
Yoo Kyung-tae, Chairman of the Dongsang Valley Water Sound Festival Organizing Committee, said, "I hope this second festival this year provided special memories and joy to local residents and visitors," adding, "We plan to widely promote and develop the charm of Dongsang-myeon and ask for continuous interest and love."
Wanju County Governor Yoo Hee-tae said, "This summer, I hope people visit Wanju to heal their tired bodies and minds with the cool sound of water," and added, "You will be able to fully enjoy the pristine natural scenery, attractions, and food."
Meanwhile, Dongsang Unjangsan Valley is located at the easternmost end of Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk. It is considered an ideal place to cool off during the vacation season. It is a summer hiking destination where a cool waterfall blends beautifully with the stunning valley. The long and deep valley captures a watercolor painting to the fullest.
