Pyeongtaek-si Completes Segyo-dong Scenic Green Space Development After 12 Years

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it has completed the development project of the 'Segyodong No. 97 Landscape Green Space,' which had been designated as a 'landscape green space' in 2012 but remained unexecuted for 12 years.

The 'Segyodong No. 97 Landscape Green Space' covers a total area of 2,862㎡. Although it was designated as a landscape green space in 2012, the project was not carried out afterward, and the area was neglected, leading to the accumulation of garbage and abandoned buildings, which caused continuous complaints from residents.

This development project was carried out as part of the city's long-term unexecuted green space creation initiative. The city explained that the project was completed after processes such as land compensation, removal of abandoned buildings and garbage, and resident briefings.

During the development, the city preserved the originally formed terrain and trees, and planted various species such as crape myrtle, arrowwood, and sweet viburnum to create a distinctive space.

A Pyeongtaek City official stated, "We will continue to make efforts so that long-term unexecuted green spaces, including those in Yongidong, can return to the citizens as soon as possible."
