Nexon's new title 'First Descendant' has ranked number one in sales on the global gaming platform Steam.
According to Steam on the 3rd, 'First Descendant,' which officially launched at 4 PM the previous day, ranked first in global game sales revenue until the morning of the same day.
First Descendant is a root shooter game, featuring high-quality visuals realized with Unreal Engine 5 and flashy gun-based combat as its strengths.
According to Steam statistics site SteamDB, First Descendant recorded a peak concurrent user count of 229,000 after its release. In terms of player count, it ranks fifth overall. Users accessing through Nexon.com rather than Steam, as well as console platform users, were not included in the tally.
A Nexon representative explained, "The number of concurrent users on PC and console platforms is similar." Based on this explanation, the total peak concurrent user count is estimated to be around 400,000 to 500,000.
However, user reviews on Steam showed only 44% positive ratings, classifying it as "mixed." Positive feedback mainly mentioned high-quality graphics, satisfying hit feedback, and expectations for future content additions, while negative aspects included paid item sales, connection and payment bugs occurring early after launch, and a flat storyline.
