Chairman Lee Hoseong: "We Will Become a Council That Gives Hope and Trust to the Military and Citizens"

The Muan County Council in Jeollanam-do held a temporary session on the 1st to organize the leadership and formed the chairmanship to lead the second half of the 9th council.

On this day, eight members belonging to the Democratic Party were elected to the chairmanship as previously coordinated, and independent councilor Kim Won-jung also participated, completing the organization unanimously.

Councilor Lee Ho-seong was elected as chairman, Councilor Jung Eun-kyung as vice chairman, Councilor Lim Hyun-soo as chair of the Council Operation Planning Committee, Councilor Kim Bong-seong as chair of the Administrative, Cultural and Welfare Committee, and Councilor Park Ssang-bae as chair of the Industry and Construction Committee.

According to the convention that councilors who held chairmanship positions in the first half are ranked lower in the second half, Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun, Vice Chairman Lim Dong-hyun, Chair of the Council Operation Planning Committee Kim Bong-seong, Chair of the Administrative, Cultural and Welfare Committee Lim Yoon-taek, and Chair of the Industry and Construction Committee Lim Hyun-soo were ranked lower. However, since two standing committee chair positions remained, Councilors Lim Hyun-soo and Kim Bong-seong will serve as standing committee chairs consecutively in both the first and second halves.

In particular, Councilor Park Ssang-bae, who rejoined the Democratic Party in June, took the prime position of chair of the Industry and Construction Committee after various twists and turns.

On the 2nd at 10 a.m., the ‘Opening Ceremony of the Second Half of the 9th Muan County Council’ will be held in the main conference hall to officially start activities.

Chairman Lee Ho-seong of the second half said, “It is a great honor to take on this responsibility, but considering Muan’s situation and the expectations of the residents, I feel a strong sense of responsibility,” and pledged, “Through communication and effort, we will become a council that gives hope and trust to the residents.”

Meanwhile, the special committee opposing the relocation of Gwangju Military Airport to Muan County, which was led by Councilor Lee Ho-seong in the first half, elected Councilor Lim Dong-hyun as chairman, and Councilor Lim Yoon-taek took the position of floor leader of the Democratic Party.

The Muan County Council is expected to continue active efforts for regional development and residents’ welfare under the leadership of the new chairman and councilors.
