Superintendent Kang then introduced the pilot project for the Education Development Special Zone, which is being implemented to solve the problem of regional extinction caused by low birthrate, and announced plans to nurture local talent and revitalize the local settlement ecosystem.

Kang Eunhee, Daegu Superintendent of Education, said, "Low birthrate and rapid population decline are urgent issues that threaten the sustainability of our society. It is very important to approach the low birthrate issue from an educational perspective regarding families and future generations, not just from an economic standpoint." She continued, "In that sense, it is very meaningful to have a time for discussion and consultation on the low birthrate issue with the participation of all principals and directors."
