The School District Drainage Improvement Project, with a total budget of 17.8 billion KRW, aims to prevent habitual flooding of 142 hectares of farmland in the School-myeon area by installing two drainage pump stations and 4 km of drainage channels. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.

Director Jung told the on-site staff, “This summer is forecasted to be hotter and rainier than usual, raising concerns about summer disasters more than ever. Until the project is completed, I ask you to maintain thorough pre-inspections and a robust response system that can immediately react to crisis situations to prevent any damage caused by heavy rain and typhoons.”

He then visited the Jillye Drainage Pump Station, which can pump 2.5 tons per second with a total of four pumps, to inspect its operational status and management conditions, adding, “Please do your best to protect the lives and property of the people safely from natural disasters during the summer.”

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Headquarters has completed pre-inspections of 1,279 sites including reservoirs and pumping stations, and conducted emergency response drills assuming disaster situations such as emergency recovery. They continue special inspections to strengthen disaster preparedness for the summer season.
