Yoo Gyehyeon and Park In Appointed as First and Second Vice Chairmen of Gyeongnam Provincial Council for Second Half

The Gyeongnam Provincial Council has elected Yoo Gyehyeon and Park In of the People Power Party as the first and second vice chairpersons for the latter half of the 12th council, respectively.

Representative Yoo ran unopposed in the election for the first vice chairperson held on the afternoon of the 26th and won with 63 out of 64 votes. Representative Park also ran unopposed for the second vice chairperson and was ultimately elected with the support of 50 out of 64 council members.

Representative Yoo stated, "I believe the vice chairperson serves as a mediator who carefully oversees various areas that the chairperson may not reach, listens to the voices of council members, and strives to create a better council," adding, "I will do my utmost to support the legislative activities of the council members by respecting their opinions."

He continued, "I will create a productive council where minorities and the underprivileged are respected and efficient decision-making leads to tangible results, a transparent and rational council worthy of its name," and added, "I will strive for diligence and pay close attention to even the smallest details."

Representative Park said, "I will always be a catalyst for communication and innovation by the side of my fellow council members," and promised, "As vice chairperson, I will carefully support all council members so that they face no difficulties in their legislative activities and will serve as a bridge between them."

He added, "We, the 64 council members and 3.3 million residents, will move forward vigorously to ensure that the 12th council in the latter half becomes a dynamic and capable body that truly supports the people of the province."
