"Establish Security Posture" ... Goseong-gun Holds 'Integrated Defense Council' Meeting

Goseong County, Gyeongnam, held an Integrated Defense Council meeting in the county office's main conference room to establish a regional integrated defense posture.

The meeting, held on the 25th, was organized to review local security threats such as North Korea's recent waste balloon incidents and to report on the 2024 Ulji Exercise plan in preparation for a national emergency, aiming to strengthen the region's security posture.

The meeting was attended by County Governor Lee Sanggeun (chairperson), the chairperson of the Goseong County Council, the chief of Goseong Police Station, the chief of Goseong Fire Station, military unit representatives, and other related agency leaders, who discussed various measures in response to the recent national crisis situation.

In his opening remarks, Governor Lee stated, "The Integrated Defense Council is the most important organization for safeguarding the security and peace of our region," and added, "With the international situation becoming increasingly unstable and North Korea's threats intensifying, close cooperation and swift response among all agencies are more necessary than ever," urging the cooperation of all involved organizations.

Meanwhile, the Goseong County Integrated Defense Council is held regularly (quarterly) every year as a body to discuss regional defense and safety. The next meeting is scheduled to take place in mid-August, coinciding with the Ulji Exercise period.
