Open Council Centered on Citizens, Promising Activities Expected in the Second Half Term
The Shinan County Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Hyuk-seong) concluded the first half of the 9th term's legislative schedule through the 2nd plenary session of the 320th 1st regular meeting held on the 25th.
According to the county council on the 26th, during this regular meeting, the standing committee conducted preliminary reviews of the 2023 fiscal year settlement plan and the approval plan for supplementary budget expenditures. On the 18th, the Budget and Settlement Special Committee listened to explanations from the executive branch and conducted in-depth reviews before passing the resolutions.

From the 19th to the 24th, the council reviewed and approved 10 ordinances proposed by council members An Won-jun, Park Yong-chan, and Choi Chun-ok, 13 ordinances proposed by the executive branch, as well as 8 other agenda items including agreements on private consignment and shared property management plans.
Chairman Kim Hyuk-seong of the Shinan County Council stated in his closing remarks, "We have operated as an open council that embraces the will of the residents," and added, "I hope the new second half of the council will also be reborn as a resident-centered council."
He further said, "The results of listening to the voices of the residents over the past two years together with them have been satisfactory," and added, "I hope the council, based on mutual respect and harmony, will move closer to the residents."
The activities of the first half of the 9th term council were conducted through an open decision-making process reflecting the opinions of the residents. The county council was operated efficiently by carefully considering the current conditions and the demands of the residents, and it is expected that activities prioritizing the interests of the residents will continue in the second half as well.
