The Tongbok District Public Parking Lot is a four-story above-ground parking-only building with a total floor area of 4,206㎡, capable of accommodating 132 vehicles. The city invested 12.6 billion KRW in the project, which began construction in February last year and was completed on this day after one year and four months.

With the completion of the parking lot, the city expects to absorb parking demand resulting from urban development projects and also help revitalize the nearby traditional market, Tongbok Market. The city plans to operate the parking lot free of charge for 10 days for promotion and facility inspection, then switch to paid operation managed by the Pyeongtaek Urban Corporation Parking Management Center starting from the 5th of next month.

Meanwhile, about 100 people including Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-seon, Pyeongtaek City Council Chairman Yoo Seung-young, city and provincial council members, local organization heads, and residents attended the completion ceremony. Mayor Jeong stated, "We will continue to promote the expansion and improvement of public parking lots to create a parking environment without inconvenience for citizens."
