Party Secretary of Ninh Binh Province "Expecting More Cooperation in Various Fields"
On the 25th, Asan City in Chungnam announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ninh Binh Province in Vietnam to introduce foreign seasonal workers.
Asan City in Chungnam Province has joined hands with its sister city, Ninh Binh Province in Vietnam, to address the shortage of agricultural labor.
On the 25th, the city announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nguyen Cao Son, Vice Governor of Ninh Binh Province, to introduce foreign seasonal workers.
This MOU is a follow-up measure to the agreement signed last October when Mayor Park Kyung-gwi visited Ninh Binh Province and drafted a 'Memorandum for Expanding Agricultural Exchange between the Two Cities,' aimed at establishing a practical agreement for attracting seasonal workers.
Doan Minh Hoan, Party Secretary, said, "I hope that through this agreement, the two cities will cooperate in more fields and deepen their friendship."
Mayor Park Kyung-gwi stated, "Seasonal workers from Ninh Binh Province have been a great help to our labor-short rural areas," adding, "Let us expand exchanges not only in agriculture but also in culture and the arts through this agreement."
Meanwhile, this year, Asan City was allocated 477 seasonal workers based on the Ministry of Justice's allocation review. Since February, 273 seasonal workers have arrived and are currently working at 65 farms, including green onion, pear, and vegetable farms.
