Busan Port Authority (BPA) participated in the "Life Jacket Donation Ceremony" held at Changwon Maritime Police Station on the 19th to help ensure children's safety during the summer vacation, donating life jackets worth 6 million KRW.
The Gyeongnam Office of Education (Superintendent Park Jonghoon) is promoting water safety education using the metaverse and is running a campaign to distribute life jackets to students in cooperation with Changwon Coast Guard (Chief Kim Youngcheol) and Korea Maritime Rescue Association (President Kim Seongtae).
BPA joined this campaign as a sponsor along with Busan New Port construction companies (DL E&C and HL D&I Halla).
BPA donated 3 million KRW, DL E&C 2 million KRW, and HL D&I Halla 1 million KRW, providing about 280 life jackets.
Other companies and organizations based in Changwon, Gyeongnam, such as Korea Oil Pipeline Corporation and Geoje Oil Storage, are also participating as sponsors in the life jacket distribution campaign.
The Gyeongnam Office of Education and Changwon Coast Guard plan to introduce safe water play methods in the experience-based "Summer Vacation Student Life Metaverse Space" and distribute the donated life jackets to about 1,000 students.
Kang Junseok, President of BPA, said, "I hope children will have a safe and enjoyable summer vacation by using life jackets," and added, "We will continue to actively participate in various activities to protect children's safety in the future."
