If You Are a Single-Person Household Aged 19-39 Living in Gwanak-gu, Free Health Checkups Available
Conducted Twice in the First Half of the Year (February 24, June 22)... 'Visiting Metabolic Syndrome Screening' Planned for the Second Half
Gwanak-gu has the highest youth population ratio in the country at 41%, and the proportion of single-person youth households exceeds 63% of all single-person households in Gwanak-gu, making it a true "Youth City."
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) will conduct a "Saturday Health Checkup" this year for the first time in Seoul to accommodate single-person youth households who find it difficult to visit on weekdays due to studies, work, or part-time jobs.
Since April last year, the district has been conducting weekday health checkups for single-person youth households to care for the health of young people who might otherwise neglect their health, receiving great responses.
The "Saturday Health Checkup," starting this year, will be held in two sessions during the first and second halves of the year. In the first half, it will be conducted twice (February 24 already completed, June 22 from 9 AM to 12 PM) at the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center, and in the second half, a "Visiting Metabolic Syndrome Test" (date and location to be announced later) will be operated.
The checkup items include a total of 46 tests such as hepatitis A, B, and C tests, thyroid function test, liver function, kidney function, triglycerides, and total cholesterol, and the checkup is free of charge.
Any single-person youth household aged 19 to 39 with an address in Gwanak-gu can apply.
To apply, no separate reservation is required; just bring your ID and resident registration certificate and visit the Health Management Center on the 2nd floor of the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center. However, fasting is required from 10 PM the night before the checkup.
Checkup results can be conveniently checked by visiting the health center or online, and if any abnormalities are found, consultation is available at the clinic on the 2nd floor of the health center.
Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, "Health is an essential condition for a happy life," adding, "We will actively support our many young people in various ways, starting with free health checkups, so they can dream of a more vibrant and happy future."
