The Fund Management Headquarters of the National Pension Service announced on the 17th that it received the ‘Pension Fund of the Year (Investor of the Year)’ award at The Asset Awards ceremony held on the 14th (local time) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong.
The Asset selects and awards pension funds with the most outstanding management performance each year. The National Pension Service was honored with the award in recognition of its achievement of a 14.14% time-weighted return last year despite global recession concerns.
The National Pension Service has continuously pursued strategies to expand overseas investments and diversify its portfolio, broadening its investment base through efforts such as being the first in the world to develop a global index for the niche and non-core real estate sector.
Additionally, in May, it received a total of five awards at the ‘IPE Real Estate Global Awards 2024’ hosted by IPE Real Asset, a UK-based alternative investment magazine, gaining international recognition for its excellence. At the ceremony, the National Pension Service received the ‘Gold’ award for Best Portfolio Construction Investor, as well as ‘Silver’ awards for Asia-Pacific Region Outstanding Investor, Asia-Pacific Region Investment Excellence, Listed Strategy Outstanding Investor, and Opportunistic Investment Excellence.
Seo Won-ju, head of the Fund Management Headquarters, said, “The National Pension Service’s excellent fund management capabilities and performance have been internationally recognized. We will continue to strive to improve returns, enhance the sustainability of the National Pension Service, and do our best to solidify its status as one of the world’s top three pension funds.”
