According to the Cheonan City Sports Council on the 17th, a total of 719 participants, including 605 athletes and 114 officials across 30 events, took part in this competition, winning 64 gold medals, 39 silver medals, and 62 bronze medals, totaling 165 medals and achieving a record high score of 36,475 points.
In particular, the bowling event celebrated its seventh consecutive championship, and in swimming, 7 gold medals were won in the boys' elementary division and 8 gold medals in the girls' elementary division.
Among them, students Kim Giha (Dujeong Elementary), Kim Dohoon (Garam Elementary), Kwon Narim (Garam Elementary), and Jeong Ajin (Garam Elementary) achieved five gold medals each in swimming, with Kim Giha setting a new competition record.
Chairman Hannamgyo said, "The three consecutive overall championships were possible because the city, the sports council, officials, athletes, and all 700,000 citizens of Cheonan were united as one," adding, "We will make every effort to prepare for next year's Residents Sports Festival to be held in Cheonan and create 'Cheonan, the Premium Sports City of Korea.'"
