Suwon City, Commercial Scale Inspection... Until July 19 Suwon City Hall

The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct inspections of commercial weighing scales.

On the 17th, Suwon City announced that it will carry out inspections of commercial scales by July 19 to prevent the distribution of illegal weighing devices, in accordance with the "Measurement Act."

The main inspection items include ▲confirmation of whether the scale is subject to regular inspection ▲structural inspection ▲error inspection and pass/fail judgment ▲attachment of regular inspection marks or usage suspension tags.

The inspection targets are non-automatic commercial scales under 10 tons that have received type approval, such as dial scales, plate indicator scales, and electric indicator scales. However, scales that were inspected last year or this year, as well as household, educational, and reference scales, are excluded from the inspection.

Suwon City will mark passed scales with inspection marks, and scales exceeding the allowable error will have usage suspension tags attached and be recommended for repair or replacement with certified products.

Using scales without undergoing regular inspection may result in a fine of up to 2 million won under Article 76 of the "Measurement Act."

A Suwon City official urged, "We ask all those subject to inspection to participate in the regular inspection and cooperate in establishing a sound commercial order."
