Dongtan City Hospital (Director Shin Jae-heung) announced that it was invited by the Hwaseong District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association (hereinafter Hwaseong District Council) on the 12th and attended the “Sharing Love’s Young Radish Kimchi with Dongtan City Hospital” event held at the Hwaseong Volunteer Center for the Red Cross Hope Windmill partnered households in Hwaseong City.
At the event, Kim Mi-young, Administrative Director of Dongtan City Hospital, along with hospital executives and staff, donated 3 million won and made young radish kimchi together with volunteers belonging to the Hwaseong District Council.
The freshly made young radish kimchi will be delivered as “Love’s Young Radish Kimchi” to a total of 250 households in Hwaseong City, including 230 Hope Windmill partnered households (grandparent-grandchild families, elderly living alone, child-headed households, multicultural families, etc.) and non-partnered households. The “Red Cross Hope Windmill Partnership Project” is a program where Red Cross volunteers directly identify neighbors in welfare blind spots and provide regular material and emotional support through partnerships.
Kim Mi-young, Administrative Director of Dongtan City Hospital, said, “We are pleased to make young radish kimchi together with the Hwaseong District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association and deliver it to the Hope Windmill partnered households. We hope everyone stays healthy this summer. We will continue to do our best to provide warm help to neighbors in welfare blind spots.”
Meanwhile, Dongtan City Hospital is an official sponsor of the Korean Red Cross and was recognized last year by the Korean Red Cross for its contribution to community development and welfare enhancement, receiving a “Certificate of Commendation” and the “Red Cross Member Meritorious Medal (Taeguk).”
Since then, the hospital has continued various social contribution activities, such as donating funds for families in crisis in Hwaseong City and receiving a plaque of appreciation at the “35th Anniversary Ceremony of the Formation of the Hwaseong District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association,” striving to promote community health and resolve welfare and medical blind spots.
