[Featured Stock] Maniker F&G, K-Food Popularity Sparks Hot Samgyetang Craze... Captivates Europe Following the US

Maniker F&G is showing strong performance. As K-food gains popularity worldwide, expectations that Samgyetang exports will gain momentum seem to be influencing the stock price.

At 11:39 AM on the 12th, Maniker F&G was trading at 4,585 KRW, up 25.1% from the previous day.

Earlier, on the 9th of last month, Maniker F&G held a commemorative event for the first export of Samgyetang to the European Union (EU) at the Busan Port Coastal Passenger Terminal. This achievement is highly significant as it was accomplished through close collaboration and communication between the government and industry to overcome stringent overseas regulations. The initial shipment will be sold through local wholesale and retail distribution channels secured by Germany’s largest Korean food distribution partner, as well as sales networks in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Spain, and Italy.

Maniker F&G achieved the milestone of being the first Korean company to successfully export Samgyetang to the United States in 2014, and now, after 10 years, has accomplished the first export to the European Union (EU). Maniker F&G’s Samgyetang has shown annual growth in global markets such as the United States, Canada, and Japan, raising expectations for success in the European market as well.

Maniker F&G recorded its highest sales since its establishment last year. Additional sales growth is expected from Samgyetang exports. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety played significant roles in the success of EU exports. The government began the first quarantine and hygiene negotiations with the EU in 1996 for heat-treated poultry exports and finalized the negotiations at the end of last year, unlocking the European market after 28 years.

Following the United States and Canada, the long-awaited EU market has opened for Samgyetang exports, and exports of heat-treated poultry products such as frozen chicken are also planned. Starting with domestically produced Samgyetang, it is expected to become easier to pioneer new markets for food products using chicken as a raw material.

Maniker F&G plans additional exports depending on local responses to Samgyetang, and export discussions are underway for the BasaSak series, Maniker F&G’s flagship brand, following Samgyetang.

Maniker F&G’s Samgyetang, which has expanded to European dining tables, is sold at domestic offline discount stores such as Lotte Mart and E-Mart Traders, as well as on online platforms including Coupang, Naver Smart Store, and open markets.

Exports of chicken products including Samgyetang recorded $37.8 million, a 6.6% increase. Samgyetang (heat-treated poultry) exports to Europe began last May with 8.5 tons (approximately $5 million) shipped to Germany, the Netherlands, and other European regions, following the resolution of quarantine requirements last year after 27 years since the start of export quarantine negotiations with the EU in 1996.
