Applications Open from the 12th: Book Clubs, One-Day Learning... Self-Development and Healing
The Gumi City Central Library will operate "One Day, Youth," a program combining book clubs and one-day classes, from June 27 to November.
This is a customized project for the 2030 young generation seeking self-development and networking, and will be held twice a month on the first and third Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.
The program includes a book club with wine, an open chat book club with local authors, an emotional book club under the starlit autumn night, as well as one-day classes such as making a leather card wallet, creating mosaic coasters using glass art, and picture book therapy. These will be offered each month.
Applications can be submitted through the library website starting from the 12th. For more details, please refer to the announcements on the Central Library website or contact the Reading Promotion Team.
Director Lee Sunim stated, "We will strive to support and empathize with the lives of young people by promoting customized book culture, and we hope for your great interest and participation."
The city is currently implementing the "2024 Generation Empathy Gumi Reading Culture, Gudok" project to share the value of reading and support the formation of reading habits among citizens, referencing the 4th Basic Plan for the Promotion of Reading Culture announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last April.
On July 6, the Gumi Picture Book Festival will be held, and various events tailored to each generation's preferences, such as youth reading events, One Day Youth, book concerts, and "4050 Asking for Directions in Books," are scheduled to take place.
