Pyeongtaek Port Authority, Opening Ceremony of 'Maritime Logistics Youth Employment Academy' on the 10th Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority held the 'Maritime Logistics Youth Employment Academy' on the 10th.

On the 10th, Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority held the entrance ceremony for the 'Maritime Logistics Youth Employment Academy.'


The ceremony was attended by 30 trainees, officials from Pyeongtaek Port Authority, and related educational institutions. The event proceeded with an introduction to the project’s purpose and content, followed by guidance on the training schedule.


The Maritime Logistics Youth Employment Academy is a project promoted as one of the key policies of Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon’s 8th term administration, aimed at providing 'more equitable employment opportunities' for youth.


The program targets young people in Gyeonggi Province and graduates (or prospective graduates) from local universities who wish to enter and find employment in the maritime logistics sector. It offers practical theoretical and on-site training related to maritime logistics, as well as education to strengthen employment capabilities.


Pyeongtaek Port Authority will conduct the program twice this year. The first session starts with an orientation on June 10 and runs for four weeks until July 8. The main curriculum includes ▲ Basics of maritime logistics ▲ Incoterms ▲ Bill of lading and other basic and advanced theoretical education related to maritime logistics ▲ Employment briefing sessions ▲ Mentoring by employment seniors ▲ Port tours and other programs to enhance employment capabilities.


Kim Seok-gu, President of Pyeongtaek Port Authority, emphasized, "By providing 'more equitable employment opportunities and jobs full of positive change' to youth in the province, we will enhance youth employment rates and strengthen the public nature of the authority through fulfilling social responsibilities."
