'1111·1004·1472' Is My Number Also a Gold Number? ... 10,000 Will Be Drawn

Entries accepted until the 23rd... Winners announced on the 28th
Up to 3 entries per person... Non-transferable to others

SK Telecom [017670] announced on the 9th that it will hold an event to distribute 10,000 Gold Numbers through a lottery. Gold Numbers are phone numbers whose last four digits have specific patterns such as 1111, 2200, 3000, or numbers where the middle and last parts are the same in the ABCD-ABCD format (e.g., 1234-1234, 5678-5678), or numbers with special meanings like 1004 (angel) and 1472 (swift progress).

The Gold Numbers available for entry this time come in 9 types, and each person can apply for up to 3 numbers. Typically, the most popular Gold Numbers are those with symmetrical digits like 1234-1234. Both existing customers and new subscribers can participate in the lottery through SKT’s official certified agencies and the T Direct Shop (shop.tworld.co.kr). Users of MVNOs can also apply for a separate Gold Number lottery on their respective MVNO operator websites.

Winning Gold Numbers cannot be transferred to others, and customers who are already using a Gold Number or have obtained one within the past year are not eligible to apply. The application period runs until the 23rd, and winners can check the results starting from the 28th. Winning customers will receive individual notification messages, and to use the winning numbers, they must register them at SK Telecom’s official certified agencies or the T Direct Shop between July 1 and 19.

Since last year, SKT has increased the number of Gold Numbers provided through the lottery to 10,000 annually, expanding customers’ opportunities to own phone numbers with special meanings. The Gold Number lottery is conducted randomly under the supervision of the Preferred Number Lottery Committee, which includes government agencies such as the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA). SK Telecom holds the Gold Number lottery event once a year, and KT and LG Uplus also hold similar annual Gold Number lottery events.
