Starting at 42.08 million KRW for the Basic Model and 46.5 million KRW for the Long-Range Model
Over 7 million KRW discount with tax benefits and subsidies applied
Kia announced that pre-orders for the compact electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) EV3 will begin nationwide at branches and dealerships starting from the 4th.
Before applying tax benefits, the base model (Standard) is priced at 42.08 million KRW for the Air trim, 45.71 million KRW for the Earth trim, and 46.66 million KRW for the GT Line. The long-range model is priced at 46.50 million KRW for the Air trim, 50.13 million KRW for the Earth trim, and 51.08 million KRW for the GT Line.
Once registered as an eco-friendly vehicle, tax benefits are expected to reduce the price by more than 2 million KRW. The company anticipates the base model to start from 39.95 million KRW and the long-range model from 44.15 million KRW.
Considering government and local subsidies, the base model is expected to be available in the mid-30 million KRW range, while the long-range model will likely be in the mid-to-high 30 million KRW range. In Seoul, where subsidies are relatively lower, the price is expected to be around 32.90 million KRW, whereas in Geochang, Gyeongnam, which offers the highest subsidies nationwide, it is expected to be about 24.19 million KRW, according to industry estimates.
The company plans to begin full-scale sales next month after completing government certification. They also introduced the ‘e-Life Package’ program to make owning and using electric vehicles more convenient. This is an exclusive electric vehicle program that bundles charging, vehicle management, and used car price guarantee services into one.
Depending on the living environment, customers can receive support for installing customized chargers, and at public charging stations, roaming services and subscription-based pricing plans allow for cheaper charging. The program also includes a service where the vehicle is taken for emergency charging and then returned.
Additional services include a safety dispatch service that moves the vehicle to the nearest charging station in case of emergency, and support services for interior and glass damage. Furthermore, there is a price guarantee program that ensures up to 60% of the residual value of the used electric vehicle if a new Kia vehicle is purchased within three years after buying the electric vehicle.
Purchasing the EV3 this year allows customers to defer up to 60% of the vehicle price until retirement age and use an installment plan with monthly payments in the 200,000 KRW range. They also receive remote diagnostic services and K Delivery Service.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of this new model, Kia released character merchandise featuring Disney’s Inside Out 2. An exhibition will be held at Kia Champions Field starting on the 18th, and a dedicated exhibition space will be set up at the 2024 Busan Mobility Show on the 28th.
Jung Won-jung, head of Kia’s domestic business division, said, "We will continuously hold diverse events so that customers can experience the EV3 through various touchpoints."
