Deputy Prime Minister Lee Ju-ho Discusses 'Responsible Education Grade System' with Teachers and Parents

Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, will meet with parents and teachers of 3rd grade elementary and 1st grade middle school students to gather opinions on the 'Responsible Education Grade System.'

On the afternoon of the 31st, Deputy Prime Minister Lee will hold the '29th Together Talk Meeting' with teachers and parents at the Korea Educational Facilities Safety Institute, focusing on support for the Responsible Education Grade System. During this meeting, they will listen to opinions on the Responsible Education Grade System, which was introduced this year for 3rd grade elementary and 1st grade middle school students, and discuss effective measures for its successful implementation in the field.

The Responsible Education Grade System designates 3rd grade elementary and 1st grade middle school?critical periods when subject learning begins and secondary education starts?as 'Responsible Education Grades' to provide focused support. It operates systematic learning support programs such as small-group subject supplementation after school and basic academic skills guarantee programs during vacation periods.

On this day, Deputy Prime Minister Lee will exchange opinions on the Responsible Education Grade System and customized academic achievement self-assessment with three parents of 3rd grade elementary and 1st grade middle school students, as well as five teachers responsible for field and metropolitan/provincial education offices.

Deputy Prime Minister Lee is expected to state, "Focused support is necessary to improve basic academic skills for the Responsible Education Grades of 3rd grade elementary and 1st grade middle school students. Through the stable operation of the Responsible Education Grade System, we will do our best to support schools so that customized basic academic skills guarantees based on accurate academic assessments can be realized."
