Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 31st, "If President Yoon Seok-yeol continues in his current state, the mileage for impeachment will accumulate," adding, "I warn that the impeachment train may depart."

On the same day, Park appeared on KBS Radio's Jeon-gyeok Sisa and stated his goals for the 22nd National Assembly activities: "I will point out issues in the National Assembly so that Yoon Seok-yeol, Kim Geon-hee, and the prosecution regime can properly succeed together with the people."

He said, "The day before, President Yoon went to the People Power Party lawmakers' workshop and said, 'Let's unite tightly. I will work until my body breaks. Let's not ask about the past.' This was necessary for the ruling party's unity," but added, "From my perspective, I think President Yoon is very anxious and perhaps bewildered."

Regarding the Democratic Party's decision at the party meeting the previous day to reintroduce the 'Marine Corps Special Prosecutor Act' as the top party bill, he pointed out, "It has been revealed in broad daylight that aides in the presidential office, including the president and the defense minister, have been making phone calls. This is a clear obstruction of investigation, external pressure, and abuse of power."

He continued, "I have served as a senior secretary and chief of staff at the Blue House and have experience as the director of the National Intelligence Service," and criticized, "How can the president use a personal cellphone to call the defense minister who is abroad? This shows incompetence and ignorance regarding national security."

He added, "Including these matters in the special prosecutor law for investigation is the way to alleviate public suspicion and is also necessary from a security perspective," and said, "I believe it should definitely be included."

Meanwhile, on the day the 22nd National Assembly began, the Democratic Party completed the first round of committee assignments for its members for the first half of the term. In particular, they advanced 'anti-Yoon Seok-yeol' attack forces to key committees, firmly demonstrating their determination to fight the government.

Among them, the Legislation and Judiciary Committee included Park Ji-won, known as a 'political master,' along with three Supreme Council members: Seo Young-kyo, Jung Cheong-rae, and Jang Kyung-tae. Lee Seong-yoon, who clashed with President Yoon when he was the Seoul Central District Prosecutor General, and Kim Yong-min, the party's 'Prosecution Reform TF Team Leader,' were also assigned to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee. Additionally, former prosecutor Park Gyun-taek and Lee Geon-tae, known as the 'Daejang-dong lawyer,' were assigned to the committee. The opposition party's secretary of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee is Kim Seung-won, a former judge.
