Daejeon Jungang-ro Underground Shopping Mall Merchants' Bid Suspension Injunction Request Denied Daejeon District Court

Merchants of Daejeon Jungang-ro Underground Shopping Center filed an injunction request with the court to stop the competitive bidding conducted by Daejeon City for the underground shopping center, but it was not accepted.


The 1st Administrative Division of the Daejeon District Court (Chief Judge Kim Yang-gyu) dismissed the injunction request filed by the Jungang-ro 1st Street Operating Committee against Daejeon City to stop the competitive bidding for Jungang-ro Underground Shopping Center on the 30th.


The court explained the reason for dismissal, stating, "The maximum usage permission period of 30 years for administrative property under the Public Property Act has expired, so the right to preserve the status requested in the injunction is not recognized. Furthermore, since the other creditors are not parties who have received usage permission for the administrative property of the underground shopping center, it cannot be considered that they have the right to preserve the status."


Accordingly, Daejeon City will be able to proceed with the general (competitive) bidding for the usage permission of stores in the Jungang-ro underground shopping center as scheduled.


As the 30-year usage period of the Jungang-ro underground shopping center ends on July 5, Daejeon City has decided that the Facilities Management Corporation will manage and operate the center and is conducting the bidding process to select store usage permit holders.
