Jeju Coast Guard Conducts Inspection on Major Accident Prevention and Safe Navigation Practices

Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief So Byung-yong) conducted an inspection on the prevention of major accidents and the safety operation status of patrol vessels under its jurisdiction at the dedicated pier for Jeju Port patrol vessels on the 29th, following the recent emphasis on the importance of the "Serious Accidents Punishment Act."


According to Jeju Maritime Police on the 30th, Chief So Byung-yong visited patrol vessels 210 and P-36 to conduct education and inspections aimed at accident prevention.

The main points of inspection focused on safety-related matters such as whether the vessel safety accident prevention manual and emergency response plans in case of accidents were established, inspection of navigation equipment to prevent safety accidents during navigation, compliance with the "strengthened control of shooting training," and measures to prevent slipping on the vessel deck.


Chief So Byung-yong stated, "To safely protect the sea that the public enjoys during the summer, our staff must also be safe," adding, "Preventing major accidents requires the attention and efforts of commanders and staff so that the Maritime Police can respond immediately to the public's call."
