Naju City in Jeollanam-do was recently selected as an excellent institution in the comprehensive evaluation of the Dasan Safety Award hosted by Jeollanam-do.
According to the city on the 30th, the Dasan Safety Award is a prize given to individuals or organizations that have contributed to creating a safe community through proactive disaster prevention and response.
The name of the award reflects the spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, who emphasized proactive disaster prevention and active response in the Mokminsimseo.

The city achieved excellent results in the comprehensive evaluation across four areas: safety culture movement evaluation, Safe Korea training evaluation, disaster management evaluation, and disaster prevention project evaluation, securing 85 million KRW in prize money.
The prize money will be invested in safety and disaster management fields to create an environment where citizens can live with peace of mind.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “Securing the lives and safety of citizens is the most important thing in the event of a disaster,” adding, “Starting this year, we will operate a 24/7 disaster safety situation room without any gaps to build a safe and happy Naju City free from disasters.”
Meanwhile, the city was selected as an excellent city/county in the disaster response capability evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety last year.
