In particular, among new members joining ‘Kumon Active Life,’ those in their 50s accounted for the largest proportion. By age group, the distribution was ▲50s 43.9% ▲60s 29.2% ▲70 and above 26.8%. Also, among the enrolled subjects, the order of enrollment rates was Chinese characters (Hanja), English, and Japanese. Kumon Learning analyzed that these subjects stood out because members who want to feel the achievement of reading foreign languages on their own or engage in new studies as a hobby received positive responses.

‘Kumon Active Life’ is a product that combines Kumon textbooks by subject, instructor visit management, and a senior-exclusive magazine. To differentiate from the existing Kumon, a self-produced magazine was introduced to strengthen brain cognitive activity elements. The product components are ▲Kumon textbooks ▲visit management (once a week) ▲magazine (once a month). The available subjects are ▲Korean ▲English ▲Mathematics ▲Japanese ▲Chinese ▲Chinese characters (Hanja) ▲Brain SokSok, totaling 7 subjects.

A Kumon Learning official stated, “We were able to achieve 10,000 enrolled subjects in a short period by launching a package product tailored to the demand of members aged 50 and above who want to satisfy their desire for self-development through learning and improve cognitive and memory skills through new studies,” adding, “Since competitiveness has been proven not only for elementary and middle school students but also for members aged 50 and above, we will accelerate market penetration.”
