Deleted photo of staff seating chart in front of department office
On the 27th, Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will change the names of staff members responsible for tasks on the city’s homepage to private in order to protect employees from malicious complainants. The city also decided to remove photos from the staff placement charts posted in front of each department's office.
However, to minimize inconvenience to complainants, the city plans to continue disclosing the department, phone number, and responsibilities on the homepage, excluding names, and to post names, positions, and responsibilities without photos on the placement charts in front of offices.
In addition, to protect civil servants handling complaints from illegal acts such as verbal abuse and assault by complainants, the city will operate a response system for malicious complainants and take strict institutional measures against illegal acts such as assault by complainants.
Jung Jang-seon, mayor of Pyeongtaek City, said, "Providing high-quality administrative services to complainants requires an environment where public officials can work safely above all else," adding, "We will strive to protect public officials and enhance administrative accountability so that there is no inconvenience in providing city services."
