YC Chem, a specialized company in semiconductor precision chemical materials, is entering the semiconductor equipment business.
Based on its development, manufacturing, and quality know-how in the semiconductor materials field, YC Chem has formed an equipment development group and has been developing special cleaning equipment for semiconductor wafers. The wafer special cleaning equipment developed by YC Chem is a hybrid cleaning system capable of both single-water type and batch type operations, and it plans to supply this equipment to domestic semiconductor-related companies next month. Negotiations for orders are also currently underway with other semiconductor-related companies.
YC Chem intends to grow the semiconductor special cleaning equipment business as a new venture to diversify its sales portfolio, given the increasing importance of wafer cleaning due to semiconductor high integration and the significant impact of removing fine contaminants on semiconductor yield.
Separately from the semiconductor wafer cleaning equipment, YC Chem is currently developing a high-selectivity phosphoric acid concentration analysis device. This device accurately analyzes the concentration of high-selectivity phosphoric acid in real-time inline within semiconductor manufacturing lines using high-selectivity phosphoric acid, and notifies the timing for replacing the high-selectivity phosphoric acid.
A YC Chem representative said, "There are no cases of application in mass production yet," adding, "We have already completed development and are in the internal testing phase; once commercialized, it is expected to be the first case domestically and internationally." They further added, "Field testing with global customers could be possible as early as within this year."
YC Chem plans to continue growing not only in the semiconductor materials field but also in the semiconductor equipment field, starting with the first equipment shipment next month.
