GH Promotes Campaign to Prevent Slumification Following Hanam Gyosan Demolition

Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation's Hanam Gyosan Guardian Campaign Activities

Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) will conduct the ‘Gyosan Jikimi’ campaign activities in the Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District starting from the end of May.

The Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District was designated and announced as a project district in 2019, and is currently in the final stages of compensation and the commencement phase. The target completion year is 2028.

This campaign was planned to address issues such as the accumulation of household waste caused by the eviction of original residents after compensation is completed, environmental pollution problems due to long-term neglect, and concerns about crime damage in neighboring areas caused by district slumification during site development and construction promotion.

The Gyosan Jikimi campaign is being promoted by GH employees in charge of compensation for the Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District, who directly visit the project site and communicate with residents within the compensation area.

Through this campaign, GH plans to secure customer trust and enhance the corporation’s image by promoting systematic activities that integrate governance with eco-friendly and customer-friendly approaches.

Kim Se-yong, President of GH, stated, "I hope the Hanam Gyosan Public Housing District development project proceeds smoothly as scheduled," and added, "Above all, we will continue to communicate with residents and move towards coexistence rather than conflict."
