Simultaneous Acquisition of ISO 37001 and ISO 37301
Hanwha Ocean announced on the 26th that it has simultaneously obtained the anti-corruption management system 'ISO 37001' and the compliance management system integrated certification 'ISO 37301' from the Korea Compliance Certification Institute.
Hanwha Ocean, which was launched in May last year, established a Compliance Office directly under the CEO and a subordinate Compliance Team. Since its launch, the Compliance Office has identified and assessed potential risks in the anti-corruption field across all business sites. It has also built an anti-corruption system by establishing a strict management framework and selecting, training, and operating internal auditors for risk management.
As a result of these efforts, Hanwha Ocean underwent a three-week audit by the external certification body, Korea Compliance Certification Institute, starting in April, and simultaneously obtained two related certifications.
Kwon Hyuk-woong, CEO of Hanwha Ocean, said, "The ISO 37001 and ISO 37301 certifications are essential for eradicating corrupt practices, spreading a culture of compliance through adherence to norms, enhancing corporate credibility, and achieving sustainable management."
He added, "As the CEO, I will continuously pay attention to anti-corruption and compliance and will advance this management system. We will realize compliance management that leads the new era and prepares for the future."

The Korea Compliance Certification Institute was established in 2017 as an ISO standard certification body.
The ISO International Organization for Standardization, with participation from 171 countries, plays a role in establishing and disseminating internationally used standards such as quality, environment, occupational health and safety, and information security.
ISO 37001 is an international standard specification that defines requirements applicable to the anti-corruption field that can occur in all organizational activities. It is a global standard certification system that allows third-party certification of activities to establish, implement, maintain, and improve an anti-corruption management system within an organization.
ISO 37301 is a certification system that identifies an organization’s strategic obligations such as laws, regulations, norms, and codes of conduct regardless of the organization’s size and nature, and through third-party certification of the outcomes, proves that the organization’s management system is compliant management.
