Gyeonggi Province will establish the Health and Medical Policy Division and the Emergency Medical Division. Instead, the Public Medical Division and the Infectious Disease Management Support Group will be abolished.
On the 21st, Gyeonggi Province announced a partial amendment to the enforcement rules of the ordinance on administrative organization and staffing, which includes establishing or abolishing departments within the Health and Wellness Bureau or changing their names.
The legislative proposal focuses on establishing the Health and Medical Policy Division and the Emergency Medical Division while abolishing the existing Public Medical Division and Infectious Disease Management Support Group. The existing Disease Policy Division will be renamed the Infectious Disease Management Division, and the Health and Medical Division will be renamed the Medical Resources Division.
Gyeonggi Province added tasks related to home medical services (Health and Medical Policy Division) and emergency medical institutions (Emergency Medical Division), and adjusted the departments responsible for comprehensive planning and coordination (Disease Policy Division → Health and Medical Policy Division), regional health care planning (Health and Medical Division → Health and Medical Policy Division), and public health care planning (Public Medical Division → Medical Resources Division).
This legislative proposal will be finalized and implemented after collecting opinions until the 22nd of this month.
