Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) held the "1st Seodaemun Companion Culture PET Festival" on the afternoon of the 18th at Ansan (鞍山) dog walking trail in Yeonhui-dong. At the entrance of the walking trail, events such as a dog talent show and quizzes about dogs were held. Afterwards, a walk along the trail with the dogs took place.
Additional events such as health and behavior consultations for dogs, toy making, and caricature drawing were also held, receiving great responses. Mayor Lee Seong-heon said, "I hope this event helped spread a proper companion culture and improve animal welfare."
Previously, the district created the walking trail so that dogs and their owners could walk and enjoy together. This trail is circular, allowing walkers to return to their starting point, with a length of 2 km, a width of 1.5 m, and three rest areas. It features a natural setting where visitors can enjoy walking on dirt paths through the forest. The rest areas are equipped with drinking fountains and waste bag dispensers for dogs.
