Since Opening in 2009, Local Talent Development Donations
1 Million Won Each from 1,930 People, Totaling 1.93 Billion Won
Since the department store first opened, the total amount of scholarships donated every year has exceeded 1.9 billion KRW, benefiting 1,930 recipients.
Shinsegae Centum City has been steadily donating to nurture local talent since 2009, and announced on the 14th that it has once again contributed Hope Scholarships this year.
On the morning of the 14th, the "16th Local Talent Hope Scholarship Award Ceremony" was held on the 10th floor of the department store. Attendees included Kim Seong-su, Mayor of Haeundae-gu, Joo Nak-seong, Planning Director of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, Kim Hee-seok, Head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and Park Soon-min, Store Manager of Shinsegae Centum City.

Through the event, 130 million KRW was donated to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. This scholarship will be awarded to 130 youths recommended by various organizations, with 1 million KRW given to each individual.
Shinsegae Centum City has held the Hope Scholarship Award Ceremony annually since its opening, and the total scholarships awarded to date amount to 1.93 billion KRW, benefiting 1,930 recipients.
In addition, the department store carries out various social contribution activities, such as sponsoring families in need in cooperation with Haeundae-gu Office, and supporting protected children and those who have aged out of care through the Hope Santa Expedition in partnership with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation.
Park Soon-min, Executive Director and Store Manager of Shinsegae Centum City, said, “We continue to provide scholarships to nurture talents who will lead Busan’s future,” adding, “We will fulfill our corporate social responsibility by engaging in more active social contribution activities to coexist with the local community.”
