10th Anniversary Publication of 'Easy Hangeul'
The National Hangeul Museum announced on the 14th that it has published "Easy Hangeul," which introduces the history and culture of Hangeul.
This is the first popular educational book produced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the museum's opening. It explains Hangeul through four words: "make," "learn," "read," and "write." It clearly explains how Hangeul was created, how people wrote the language they used before the invention of Hangeul, and how the orthography changed over time. It also introduces various materials that show how Hangeul has been learned and used.
"Easy Hangeul" explains the methods of learning consonants and vowels using items in the museum's collection, such as the "Hangeul Half-Syllable Chart" and the "Hangeul Jamo Chart." It adds reading enjoyment by including stories related to song lyrics written in Hangeul, medical books, cooking books, and more.
The Hangeul Museum will gift the book to 100 participants in the "Hangeul OX Quiz" event held on the 15th, the 627th birthday of King Sejong the Great. Yu Hoseon, head of research and education at the Hangeul Museum, said, "We hope this will be an opportunity to reflect on the precious value of Hangeul on King Sejong's birthday."
