Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, announced on the 14th that he visited the site of the fire accident in the Maruk-dong flower complex the previous day to meet with the affected residents and deliver messages of consolation and encouragement.
At the fire site, Social City Committee members Im Seong-hwa and Yoon Jeong-min also visited together, received an on-site report from firefighters regarding the cause and suppression status of the accident, directly inquired about the damage suffered by the affected residents, carefully examined the surrounding situation, and confirmed the damage caused by the fire accident.
Councilor Jeon stated, “According to the press release, the fire that occurred around 11:41 PM on the 12th destroyed four vinyl greenhouses (1,377㎡), resulting in property damage estimated by the fire station at about 42 million won. I express my deep condolences to the small business owners affected by this fire.”
Additionally, Councilor Jeon said, “Fortunately, there were no casualties, but we will make greater efforts to prevent fire safety accidents to ensure that such fire incidents do not recur.”
