Incheon Cancer Treatment Cooperation Hospitals Expanded to 4 Locations... Gukjesungmo Hospital and Hanlim Hospital Added

Incheon City announced on the 14th that it has expanded the number of 'Cancer Treatment Cooperation Hospitals' to four, allowing cancer patients to receive treatment at general hospitals near their homes after being treated at tertiary general hospitals.

Accordingly, the cancer treatment cooperation hospitals in Incheon now include the existing Geomdan Top Hospital, Incheon Sarang Hospital Medical Corporation, and the newly designated Catholic Kwandong University International St. Mary's Hospital and Hallym Hospital.

Incheon has three tertiary general hospitals: Inha University Hospital, Gil Hospital, and Incheon St. Mary's Hospital. To strengthen the linkage and cooperation between tertiary general hospitals and general hospitals, there are 16 cooperation hospitals.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare comprehensively considered excellent institutions that received grade 1 or 2 in cancer treatment adequacy evaluations and high-frequency cancer treatment performance among these cooperation hospitals, and last month expanded the number of cancer treatment cooperation hospitals from two to four.

Cancer patient consultations can be accessed through the service desks within tertiary general hospitals, and information on treatment status by hospital can be checked at the National Cancer Center consultation call center (1877-8126).

An official from Incheon City stated, "Citizen cooperation is necessary for tertiary general hospitals to focus on treating severe and emergency patients," and urged, "Please use the cooperation hospitals and local clinics near your home."

Meanwhile, to minimize medical gaps caused by the collective resignation of residents, Incheon City recommends that tertiary general hospitals focus on treating severe patients, while mild patients use local clinics and hospitals.

Information on 'open clinics and hospitals' can be found on the Emergency Medical Portal (E-Gen), the Ministry of Health and Welfare call center (129), and the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (Find Good Hospitals in Our Area) websites. Additionally, operating clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, and emergency rooms nearby can be checked on a map based on location.
