Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District, Seoul, attended the 'Parents' Day Commemorative Senior Event' held at Yewon Church in Deungchon-dong on the afternoon of the 10th and spent time with the elderly.

On this day, Mayor Jin presented certificates of commendation to exemplary seniors who serve as role models and to those who contributed to the welfare of the elderly, expressing his gratitude.

The district held the senior event to commemorate Parents' Day and to convey respect and gratitude for the hard work of seniors who have dedicated themselves to the local community and the nation.

About 2,000 people attended the event, including Mayor Jin, Je Eun-young, President of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Gangseo Branch, and local seniors.

The commemorative event, under the slogan "Thank you Hyo(孝), Love you Hyo(孝), Thanks to Seniors Ae(愛)," proceeded in the order of ▲pre-event performances combining a pop orchestra and fashion show ▲commendation of senior contributors ▲congratulatory performances by singers Jin Sung and Shin In-seon.

While watching the congratulatory performances with the seniors, Mayor Jin spontaneously went on stage at the host's suggestion and sang "Nui" by Seol Woon-do, saying, "I will sing with the hope that the seniors have a happier day than ever before."

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, "I deeply appreciate the noble sacrifices and hard work of the seniors who have dedicated themselves to the development of our society with respect," and added, "I will continue to do my best to ensure the healthy and vibrant later life of the elderly."
