- Starbucks' Trend Formula is 'Premium View'
- Sokcho View Landmark 'The Sharp Sokcho Prime View' Full-Scale Sale in May
One of the most notable strategies in Starbucks' recent new store openings is the concept of 'Destination' stores. These are designed not just as places to stop by on the way, but as locations that customers want to visit intentionally.
In South Korea, some of the Starbucks locations with the best views include the Haeundae X the SKY store on the 99th floor of Busan LCT, the Daejeon Expo SKY store (38th floor), the Gwanggyo SK View Lake 41F store, and the Yeongnangho Resort store (20th floor). Among these, the most recently opened store is the 'Yeongnangho Resort store,' which opened on the 29th of last month. Located on the 20th floor of Shinsegae Yeongnangho Resort, this store offers a panoramic view of the East Sea, Yeongnangho Lake, Yeongnang Park, and Seoraksan Mountain, establishing itself as a local landmark in Sokcho.
An industry insider stated, "Typically, the upper floors of resorts are designed as lounges exclusive to guests, but placing a Starbucks on the 20th floor shows confidence in the surrounding scenery," adding, "It is expected to become a representative scenic spot in Sokcho."
Wide-open views have become a highly valuable asset in the real estate market as well. In Busan Marine City, famous for its sea views, the price difference between apartments with and without views can reach up to 900 million KRW, and research by the Korea Real Estate Analysis Association has shown that the price gap caused by views can be as much as 13.4%. This goes beyond simply enjoying beautiful scenery and plays a significant role in increasing asset value.
In Sokcho, Gangwon Province, POSCO E&C plans to launch the panoramic view-specialized complex 'The Sharp Sokcho Prime View' in May. The complex will consist of 8 buildings ranging from 4 basement floors to 33 above-ground floors, with units sized 84?110㎡, 136?180㎡ (duplex), and 142?147㎡ (penthouse), totaling 1,024 units in a branded large-scale complex.
The Sharp Sokcho Prime View recently held a business briefing for real estate agents at the Shinsegae Yeongnangho Resort. During the briefing, attendees had the opportunity to indirectly experience views similar to those of the complex by touring the 20th-floor Starbucks.
From the highest floor at 33 stories, residents will enjoy panoramic views of the East Sea, Yeongnang Park, Yeongnangho Lake and Yeongnangho Country Club, and Seoraksan Mountain, showcasing the beautiful natural scenery of Sokcho. The complex is also located within Yeongnang Park, which spans 43,000 pyeong (approximately 142,000 square meters), equivalent to the size of 20 soccer fields, providing a pleasant environment. Residents will own apartments embraced by a massive park.
Significant transportation developments are also noteworthy. The KTX Sokcho Station, scheduled to open in 2027, will enable travel to Seoul Yongsan in about 99 minutes. The Donghae Northern Line, connecting Sokcho through Gangneung to Pohang and Busan, is also expected to open in 2027. Additionally, the Sokcho intercity bus terminal is nearby, and major routes such as National Road 56 and Donghae-daero provide easy access to key areas like Gangneung, Yangyang, and Goseong.
A sales representative said, "The recent business briefing was a great success, and attendees were able to indirectly experience the views from the 20th floor of Yeongnangho Resort, which is similar to the project site," adding, "There is high satisfaction with the beautiful scenery that includes Yeongnangho Lake Park, Seoraksan Mountain, and the East Sea all in one view."
The model house for The Sharp Sokcho Prime View is scheduled to open in May.
