Jeon Seung-il, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Proposes "Focusing on Basics Following Coexistence"

Councilor Jeon stated, “Through the story of the Indian horse riding, we all need time to reflect on ourselves,” adding, “Ashitabi (我是他非) and Naeronambul have the same meaning but give different feelings, and there are also completely opposite words that differ only in their endings, like reckless and humble. After seeing the recent labor union survey results, I took time for self-reflection.”

Furthermore, Councilor Jeon said, “I reflected on whether I caused inconvenience to Seo-gu public officials by requesting more materials than necessary and whether I damaged their dignity,” and added, “I will take this as an opportunity to work harder to create a council that satisfies and moves the residents.”

He also added, “It is fundamental for public officials to handle and execute matters fairly according to laws and order to prevent residents’ tax money from being wasted, and it is the authority and duty granted to councilors by residents to strictly supervise whether the administration complies with laws and order. If public officials and councilors both adhere to the basics (laws and order), trust from the residents can be built.”

Finally, he urged, “When each fulfills their duties faithfully, Seo-gu can establish itself as a balanced and fair district,” and earnestly requested, “I sincerely ask everyone to repeatedly stay true to the basics.”
