The Daejeon Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town development project has completed administrative procedures and will now proceed in earnest.
Daejeon City has designated and announced the Southwest District urban development zone for the creation of the Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town. This announcement is a follow-up measure to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's notice lifting the development restriction zone for the Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town.
The city plans to complete related procedures such as site compensation starting in May, complex development, and construction of sports facilities as quickly as possible.
The Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town development project is a complex development project investing 585.3 billion KRW on approximately 760,000㎡ of land at 100 Hakha-dong, Yuseong-gu, to build a comprehensive stadium, multipurpose gymnasium, sports facilities, residential facilities for about 4,700 households, parks, and more.
Son Cheol-ung, Director of the Citizen Sports and Health Bureau of Daejeon City, said, "The administrative procedures for the long-awaited Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town in Daejeon have been completed," adding, "We will develop the Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town, which will be a groundbreaking catalyst for the development of sports in Daejeon, into a premium landmark comprehensive sports facility complex."
