Uljin-gun Hosts Children's Day Festival Celebration

Wangpicheon Park and Hupo Elementary School Playground, Special Program Operation

Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, will hold a festival where children actively participate on May 5th, the 102nd Children's Day, at Wangpicheon Park and the playground of Hupo Elementary School.

At Wangpicheon Park, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the 25th Children's Festival, hosted by the Uljin Youth Chamber, will be held featuring performances and various experience programs.

The event will begin with a youth orchestra performance at the main stage of Wangpicheon Park, followed by awards presented to 29 exemplary children, along with a magic show and puppet theater.

Additionally, various experience zones such as face painting, Komjirak Workshop, drawing, and balloon making will be set up throughout the park. On this day, the Wangpicheon Cable Car, Aquarium, Seongryugul Cave, and Science Experience Center will be open free of charge to children.

In particular, to enable many children to participate in the event, the Uljin Youth Chamber will operate two free shuttle buses.

Bus No. 1 will depart from the main gate of the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) employee housing at 8:40 a.m., passing through Jukbyeon, Onyang, Uljin-eup, and then to the event site. Bus No. 2 will depart from Hupo Terminal at 8:40 a.m., passing through Pyeonghae, Giseong, and Maehwa stops before arriving at the event site.

The Hupo-myeon Youth Association will host the Hupo-myeon Children's Day Grand Festival at the playground of Hupo Elementary School, where various experience zones such as an air bounce playground, photo zone, keychain making, and balloon making will be operated.

There will also be a children's talent show and bubble show, providing children with precious memories.

County Governor Son Byung-bok said, “In celebration of May, the month of family, we have prepared various experience spaces where children, the future leaders, can enjoy freely with green dreams and hopes,” adding, “We hope it will be a happy time to create memories with family.”
