The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will conduct a 'Collaborative Teaching Sharing Relay' between English assistant teachers and English teachers to revitalize English education until the end of this year.
The Office of Education announced on the 30th that until December this year, 207 native English assistant teachers and English teachers at 205 schools in the province will carry out the collaborative teaching sharing relay to strengthen English teaching capabilities.
In particular, the Office of Education will hold the Open Class Potluck Party for teaching sharing four times this year.
Jo Young-min, Director of the Convergence Education Policy Division at the Office of Education, stated, "We will expand teaching sharing so that teachers can share their concerns from the field and grow together," adding, "We will strive to revitalize foreign language education through communication classes and cultural diversity classes."
Meanwhile, to reduce disparities in English education, the Office of Education is deploying native English assistant teachers to 108 educationally underserved schools. Additionally, 27 native Chinese assistant teachers are assigned to 25 schools to strengthen various foreign language curricula and cultural diversity classes.
In the second half of the year, the Office of Education will enhance foreign language teachers' capabilities through digital competency training and case sharing for English teachers and native English and Chinese assistant teachers.
