Jeju Motorboat Capsizes at Sea... All 2 Crew Members Rescued

A motorboat capsized near Haeamseo off the coast of Jeju, and all two crew members were rescued by the Jeju Coast Guard.

According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 25th, a report was received around 12:50 PM that day about the capsizing of motorboat A (3.25t, 2 persons) near Haeamseo.

The Jeju Coast Guard dispatched two patrol vessels, the Jeju Police Substation coastal rescue boat, and a rescue team to the scene. Thirty minutes later, a 500-ton patrol vessel arrived and quickly rescued the two crew members who were waiting for rescue on the overturned motorboat using a small boat.

Motorboat A had departed from Iho Hyunsapo Port at around 6:15 AM that day for leisure activities. It capsized during the process of raising the anchor, and the incident was reported to the Coast Guard.

Both rescued crew members are in good health, no marine pollution was found in the nearby waters, and the overturned motorboat hull will be towed by the private marine rescue vessel B.
