It was conducted over one night and two days under the theme "Into the Torch of Democracy" with about 160 families interested in democratic culture and enjoying camping.

At the National May 18 Democratic Cemetery, students directly offered flowers and incense, creating an opportunity to honor the democratic spirit of the democratic martyrs.

Then, they moved to the Gwangju Family Land caravan site, where various democratic cultural events were held, including a performance reenacting the May 18 Democratic Movement, a theatrical play, the lighting ceremony of the torch of democracy, and cooperative painting.

A citizen who participated in the event with their child said, "It was a meaningful experience to indirectly experience the democratization movement while camping," adding, "I was very pleased that children were given the opportunity to enjoy and learn about democratization without any resistance."

Ha Sung-il, head of the Gwangju Regional Veterans Office, stated, "Through the Veterans Culture Festival, we will do our best to help the public, including future generations, cultivate a mature sense of veterans' honor and to lay the groundwork for veterans' honor to take root as a culture in everyday life."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs introduced the Veterans Culture Festival last year, allowing citizens to directly experience the value of veterans' honor. It promoted about 90 projects nationwide, achieving participation from over 500,000 citizens.
