Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will hold the "2024 Jongno-gu Eoulnurim Festival" with the theme "Consideration we share!" at Marronnier Park (104 Daehak-ro) starting at 10:30 AM on the 18th in commemoration of Disability Day.
Hosted by Jongno-gu and organized by the Jongno-gu Federation of Organizations for the Disabled (President Song Wonsuk) and Jongno Disabled Welfare Center (Director Kim Eunyoung), this event is planned to improve awareness of disabilities and foster mutual understanding between people with and without disabilities, aiming to create an inclusive society.
The commemorative ceremony will begin at 11 AM with the reading of the Declaration of Human Rights for Persons with Disabilities, followed by congratulatory performances and awards presented to those who have contributed to the promotion of welfare for persons with disabilities.
Additionally, 22 related organizations and groups will operate event booths divided into five categories: "Visual," "Developmental," "Physical," "Union (Mental, Deaf, etc.)," and "Events," where any citizen can participate. Experiences will include walking simulations for the visually impaired, tactile books and educational tools, and various disability-type experiences. There will also be an exhibition of works by painters with developmental disabilities and caricature drawing sessions.
