Daegu Cyber University Signs Mutual Exchange Agreement with 2·28 Democratic Movement Commemoration Association

Realizing Social Value, Seeking Collaboration

Daegu Cyber University signed a mutual exchange agreement on the 4th at the university CIR conference room with the 2·28 Democratic Movement Memorial Association, a corporation, to promote cooperative projects and share infrastructure.


About 10 representatives from both sides attended the agreement ceremony, including President Lee Geun-yong, officials from Yeonggwang Academy Foundation, Park Young-seok, chairman of the Democratic Movement Memorial Association, Senior Vice Chairman Yeo Ryeong-ung, and Vice Chairman Baek Seung-dae, promising close cooperation and support.

The two organizations agreed on ▲ mutual cooperation for the social dissemination of the spirit of the 2·28 Democratic Movement, enhancing local citizens' pride, and regional community development ▲ joint research and co-hosting academic seminars ▲ providing industry-academia cooperation scholarships to executives, employees, and members of the 2·28 Democratic Movement Memorial Association upon university admission.


At the signing ceremony, Chairman Park Young-seok said, “The spirit of Pastor Lee Young-sik, who devoted himself to the country's independence and nurturing special education talents, and the spirit of the democratic movement share a great root of serving the nation,” adding, “Let both organizations cooperate to practice social values.”


Daegu Cyber University President Lee Geun-yong responded, “I deeply appreciate the efforts of the 2·28 Democratic Movement Memorial Association, which commemorates the Republic of Korea's first democratization movement and honors those who dedicated themselves, striving to inherit that spirit for future generations.”


The 2·28 Democratic Movement Memorial Association was established to inherit and practice the ideals of the democratic movement at that time and contribute to the development of our society, operating as a corporation that carries out democratic movement memorial projects.
